Chick-fil-a.....not for gays

Dan Cathy President of Chick-fil-a, on Monday July 23, created a public relations nightmare when an interview to the Biblical Recorder produced what some are calling homophobic, bigoted or just ignorant. He was responding to questions regarding Chick-fil-a's stand in a traditional family structure. President Cathy said in part, the traditional family is what Chick--fil-a is about, the biblical definition of a family, we are a family owned, we are married to our wives.
GLAAD [Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation] civil rights need to be protected as well.
Insensitive comments in world of Twitter, Facebook and social media generate support and the backlash can seem almost instantaneously as the asinine comments that birthed them. In Chicago, there is was to be a new Chick-fil-a store opening soon, citizens of the 1st Ward vow to stands firm and not support the store if and when it does open.

It remains to be seen, but if such economical stands are taking place in other parts of  this country as Chicago's 1st ward plans to, not  much longer will people affected by such bigot statements have to wait  for a formal apology. If Chick-fil-a goes the way of most corporations and get a slap on the wrist and maybe ACLU(American Civili Liberties Union) jumps in and gets their few seconds in the flashing light of the memory of this is event roughly in about 2 weeks...On to the next one, in the minds of public that is. These scandals produce public apologizes, sensitivity training and ensuring equal opportunities for all employees going forward may occur. Isn't that how it goes? Or darn near close to it.

What type of response do you feel would resonate and help off set some of the  ignorance that Chick-fil-a spread.

  1. I do understand that the backstory of Chick-Fil-a is rooted in biblical and religeous sentiment, however, at what point did this CEO forget that economically he has ruined his company by segmenting his customer base by imposing his beliefs on homosexuality to a social environ!!

  2. I believe the CEO is very serious about his religion..more so it appears or in spite of him jeopardizing his business by letting his morals have a trickle down effect on business. The question I wonder is will people feel equally as strong to take their stance on Chick-fil-a and how will that impact their business.
